  1. Introduction

Welcome to HACK-4-SAGES ! These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the HACK-4-SAGES website, located at https://hack-4-sages.org(the “Website”), and all related services, features, content, and applications offered by HACK-4-SAGES (collectively, the “Services”).

Please read these Terms carefully before using the Website or Services. By accessing or using the Website or Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and all policies referenced herein. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Website or Services.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and HACK-4-SAGES.

If you are using the Services on behalf of an organisation, you are agreeing to these Terms for that organisation and promising that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms. In that case, “you” and “your” will refer to that organisation.

  1. Eligibility

To access and use the Website and participate in the Hackathon, you must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater. By using the Website and Services, you represent and warrant that you meet this eligibility requirement. HACK-4-SAGES reserves the right to verify your age and eligibility.

  1. Registration and Accounts

    • Account Creation: To participate in the Hackathon and access certain features of the Website, you may be required to register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.
    • Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account password and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify HACK-4-SAGES immediately of any unauthorised use of your account or any other breach of security. HACK-4-SAGES will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this security obligation.
    • Team Registration: If you register as part of a team, you represent that you have the authority to bind your team members to these Terms. Each team member must also agree to these Terms individually.

  1. User Conduct

You agree not to use the Website or Services to:

    • Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
    • Infringe upon the rights of others, including but not limited to intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or publicity rights.
    • Transmit any material that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another’s privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically, or otherwise objectionable.
    • Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.

    • Upload, post, email, transmit, or otherwise make available any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising, promotional materials, “junk mail,” “spam,” “chain letters,” “pyramid schemes,” or any other form of solicitation.

    • Upload, post, email, transmit, or otherwise make available any material that contains software viruses or any other computer code, files, or programs designed to interrupt, destroy, or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment.
    • Interfere with or disrupt the Website or Services or servers or networks connected to the Website or Services, or disobey any requirements, procedures, policies, or regulations of networks connected to the Website or Services.

    • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Website, Services, other accounts, computer systems, or networks connected to the Website or Services through hacking, password mining, or any other means.

    • Engage in any other conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone’s use or enjoyment of the Website or Services, or which, as determined by

HACK-4-SAGES, may harm HACK-4-SAGES or users of the Website or Services or expose them to liability.

  1. Intellectual Property

    • Website Content: All Content on the Website, including text, graphics, logos, button icons, images, audio clips, digital downloads, data compilations, and software, is the property of HACK-4-SAGES or its content suppliers and is protected by international copyright laws.
    • User Submissions:
      • You retain all ownership rights to your Submissions. However, by submitting your project to the Hackathon, you grant HACK-4-SAGES a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the Submissions in connection with the Hackathon and HACK-4-SAGES ‘s (and its successors’ and affiliates’) business, including without limitation for promoting and redistributing part or all of the Hackathon (and derivative works thereof) in any media formats and through any media channels.
      • You also grant each user of the Website a non-exclusive license to access your Submissions through the Website and to use, reproduce, distribute, display, and perform such Submissions as permitted through the functionality of the Website and under these Terms.
      • You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary licenses, rights, consents, and permissions to publish Submissions that you submit; and you license to HACK-4-SAGES all patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other proprietary rights in and to such Submissions for publication on the Service pursuant to these Terms.
